Thousands of disappointed fans have broken chairs and torn posters after organisers cancelled a Metallica concert on the outskirts of New Delhi.
The Press Trust of India news agency says police arrested four people from the company that had organised the concert on charges of cheating people who had waited for hours for the scheduled performance by the American heavy metal band.
Organisers said the concert was called off due to technical difficulties.
Metallica promised full refunds to those who had bought tickets.
The concert was part of the buildup to Sunday's Indian Grand Prix Formula One race in New Delhi. Metallica were scheduled to perform in Bangalore later today.
But Metallica is facing a backlash in a different kind online, where fans have been venting their anger at the band's collaboration project with Lou Reed.
With just a 43 percent approval rating on Metacritic, 'Loutallica's' album Lulu has been routinely criticised by reviewers and fans, with many saying the record should never have been released.
"It is incongruous and doesn't work," said TimeOut reviewer Scott Kara.
