So that’s what they call their live show – The End of the World. And assuming nothing catastrophic happens before then, it will all take place tomorrow.
The pair have taken the somewhat ambitious step of booking the large-capacity Outdoor Theatre for their event, but they say their intentions are modest.
“We want to put on a really great show,” says Biddle who, under the stage name Shamuda, performs original songs in which digital hip hop beats are interspersed with rhythm and blues-style vocals. “But most importantly we want to let people know how many awesome composers and performers we have here in Gisborne.”
Moeau is also taking the role of performer/organiser, having committed to singing his own hip hop/R&B songs, as well as acting as DJ.
And they have booked a range of other local acts including both groups and solo performers.
Being smoke and alcohol free means they can cater for punters from the age of 13.
“We just wanted to keep it clean and make sure it is a positive experience,” Biddle says.
■ The End of the World event will be on at the Outdoor Theatre tomorrow (from 7pm). Tickets available at Stephen’s PhotoPlus, Kingpin or at the gate.
