If you are old enough to remember The Smurfs from the first time around, you'll recall how most of their adventures revolve around escaping the clutches of evil wizard Gargamel.
Not much has changed in this big screen adaptation except that a magical vortex has landed them in New York City where they must navigate the human world and get back home before the wizard gets them.
Not as high-pitchedly annoying as the trailer would have you believe, this is a relatively sweet family movie, and Hank Azaria gives a great
performance as Gargamel.
